Though it’s been a while since my last update, your prayers, encouragement, and support have continued to carry us through every season. Over these past months, God has been faithfully opening doors, deepening relationships, and reminding us again and again that even unseen seeds are still growing.

This year has been moving at full speed, and the HOH has faced a lot of sickness over these past months. Linda in particular has had a difficult time as well as her faithful helper, Ernst. Between health struggles and the daily realities of ministry in Haiti, much of our energy has gone toward simply maintaining the essentials. While it has often felt like survival mode, God has continued to sustain us through it all.

Our elementary and high school students are beginning to see the finish line in their academic year. Many are finishing up their third semester exams, which is unusually late due to weeks of heavy rain causing a lot of school cancellations throughout the year. With just a few weeks of classes again before their finals begin in mid June, these students are pressing on through what has been a challenging school year for many of them.

Our students in higher education are still very much in the middle of their studies. Their classes often go year-round with just a few weeks off here and there. Bazelais, now in his second year of medical school, has faced a particularly difficult season as he balances the intense demands of his studies alongside ongoing health struggles. Lala is taking a course in administrative assistance while at the same time taking culinary classes on the side. Her hope is that the combination of business and culinary training will equip her to one day start and run her own baking business.

There are numerous others studying various things, but one of the most exciting at this moment is Vava who has been accepted into a Midwife course. She is excited to begin these studies looking forward to helping in this area of the health field in the future.

And the best news, is that our baby girl Jed (pictured above) turned 1 this past week. Today marks a year since she has been part of our family and has been a complete joy to everyone. What a blessing to have the opportunity to sew seeds of hope into this precious life.

Jenny will once again be on the road visiting our partners in various areas. She will begin in Southern Manitoba this next week, and then move on to the Duluth, MN area, then Central Wisconsin, Eastern Michigan, Southern Ontario, then Vermont, Pennsylvania and finally Tennessee. If you are in any of these areas and haven’t heard from her but would like to catch up to her at some point, get in touch and we will see if we can work something out.

We value your prayers and support as we serve the Lord through the HOH ministry. If you are interested in having more frequent communication from us, consider joining our private Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/houseofhopehaiti1/
